Neuron Functions
Primary function: transmit an impulse to other cells. Its state is determined by the distribution of charged particles (ions).
Ions, having positive and negative charges, surround the inside and outside of each cell.
A membrane potential is created when charges on one side of the membrane are unbalanced from the other side.
