I don't know too much about my FERRELL ancestors. Most of what I do know is oral history from my grandfather, Clarence Eugene Ferrell. Here's a summary:

Generation 1:

Alfred Ferrell was born in 1838 in VA. I don't know his parents' names. In TN about 1858 he married Mary (Claiborne?). The family moved to Greene Co MO after 1876, and is listed in the 1880 census in Washington Twp. Alfred's brother Hiram and his family were also living in Greene Co MO by this time.

Children of Alfred and Mary Ferrell:

• Charles Monroe Ferrell, b. 1859 in Knox Co TN; d. 1916 in Republic, Greene Co MO. My GGrandfather. He was a photographer.
• John Ferrell, b. 1866 in TN; d. 1949 and buried near Cody, MO. He was a ranch hand in Wyoming.
• William D. (Bill) Ferrell, b. 1861 in TN; d. 1938. He m. (1) Clara Dennis, and (2) Amanda E.
• Elbert Ferrell, b. 1865; d. in Wyoming
• Josephina (Josie) Ferrell, b. c1868; d. in Washington State
• Samuel Ferrell, b. c1870
• Taylor Ferrell, b. c1872. He was a miner.
• Ellen Ferrell, b. c1875; d. in Kansas
• Lillian Ferrell, b. 24 Feb 1878; d. 21 Jun 1908, buried near Cody MO. She married James E. Cave.

Charles Monroe Ferrell m. Lydia Rosetta Watson.

• Clarence Eugene Ferrell, b. 2 Jan 1897 in Republic, Greene Co MO; d. 29 Jun 1973 in Springfield, Greene Co MO. He was a letter carrier in Springfield, MO. He m..Elizabeth Ridley, daughter of Joseph Ridley and Myrtle May Rogers.
• Clifford Ferrell, b. 24 Sep 1905; d. 2 Dec 1936. He m. Ellen Creech.
