Daniel McCray was born c 1745 in Northern Scotland, and died 25 Jun 1819 in Washington Co TN. He married (1) Sarah Nodding 1768 in Loudoun Co VA (?), daughter of William Nodding and Mary (Brewster?). He married (2) Polly Pritchard Aft. 1809.

"March the first 1819 for Jan. It is the Request of Daniel McCray that Jane Jinkins shal have my (three) beds and sides and feniture and pots and chest and haules and smothen idron and forty Dolars for Sally Harris this beinnt her part for a horse beast that they ought to of had. Kno all men of the County of Washington and State of tenasee that I Daniel McCray do sertify this to be my last will that and testament that after lawfull dets be paid that my Nigro man elick shal have the choosing of his own master and mistress amongst my Children and they shal not sel and run him out of the County and sho so ever he Chooses for master if it be more than their share must pay to the others as I allow all my Children to have an equal sher of what I have. I leave henery McCray and thomas McCray to be my executors.
And Amelia McCray ten Dolar."

Jo Kerr on GenForum writes: "Daniel McCray was born slightly NW of the center of Scotland near Loch Ness. He immigrated to America before 1768. Two brothers are supposed to have arrived with him, possibly Charles and James. Daniel married Sarah Nodding abt 1768. In 1759, the will of Charles Macrey (McCray) "to my dear and loving cousin" (sic, probably a deletion) all his real estate in VA. Sarah was only age 9 at the time this will was written. The McCrays obviously were related or good friends of the Noddings."

Beersheba McCray was born 26 Jan 1822 in Carter Co TN, and died 16 Oct 1890 in Greene Co MO, (Rock Prairie Cemetery, Halltown). She married Thomas Watson 13 Nov 1838 in Monroe Co TN, son of John Watson and Elizabeth Blankenship.

Gilbert Royal Watson was born 19 Apr 1846 in Little York, Green County MO, and died 6 May 1915 in Republic MO (Evergreen Cem.). He married Elizabeth Ann (Betsy) Stogsdill 21 Nov 1867 in Hoover Mill near Hall Town MO, daughter of Josiah Stogsdill and Lydia Hall.

Lydia Rosetta Watson was born 5 Apr 1875, and died 16 Jul 1920 in Springfield MO. She married (1) Charles Monroe Ferrell, son of Alfred Ferrell and Mary (Claiborne?). She married (2) Van Zant. She was a milliner in Republic, MO, with a shop next to her husband's photography studio.
