2010 Choral Celebration
November 4-5, 2010
Dear Choral Colleagues,
Metropolitan State College of Denver is pleased to present the seventh annual CHORAL CELEBRATION AT METRO STATE. This year’s festival will again be held on two days, Thursday, November 4, 2010 and Friday, November 5, 2010.
Something new this year - the inclusion of vocal jazz ensembles on Friday!
This fall choral festival is held for traditional high school choral ensembles of any configuration (mixed, women’s, men’s, madrigal/chamber groups, etc.), and this year, for the first time, vocal jazz ensembles. Unfortunately, we cannot accomodate show choirs. The emphasis of this festival is to educate, encourage, and motivate your choral ensemble to continue their musical growth throughout the school year. It is our hope that your singers will leave feeling inspired by their own musical potential!
The registration fee of $95 per choir includes the following:
- A performance in the King Center Concert Hall (for traditional choirs) or St. Cajetan's Hall (for vocal jazz ensembles)
- A professional audio recording of your ensemble’s performance.
- A conducting videotape of each performance for the conductor’s later personal review.
- An on-stage clinic with MSCD choral faculty and/or guest clinicians immediately following each ensemble’s performance.
- Observation of performances and clinics by other high school ensembles.
- A performance by the Metro State choral ensembles.
Online Registration will be available to everyone on Monday August 16th. The registration deadline is Friday September 24th or until full. Please complete the online registration form and follow the instructions for mailing your check. The registration form may also be printed and mailed. We are not able to accept online payments at this time. No registrations will be accepted after the September 24 deadline or when we can no longer
accommodate
additional groups.
The Choral Celebration schedule will be published on our website no later than Friday, October 1st . We cannot confirm specific time assignments before that date, although we will make every effort to accommodate all groups. Priority will be given in the order that registrations are received. Due to high demand and our desire to include as many schools as possible, only two groups from each school may register.
