In a disasters Emergency Personal may not be able to respond or be able to reach everyone right away. It is important to take steps to prepare yourself and your family incase a disaster strikes.

Natural Disasters In Colorado

WILD FIRES: In Colorado about two thirds of all wildfires are caused by lightning. Man made fires are the second leading cause of wildfires in colorado

FLASH FLOODS: In Colorado, July and August are when flash floods become a hazard. Most deaths that occure from floods, occure during flash floods. Nearly half of those fatalities are auto related.

THUNDER AND LIGHTENING STORMS: Lightening is Colorado's most dangerous weather hazard.

TORNADOS: Do you know where you will take shelter in case of a tornado warning?

WINTER STORMS & AVALANCHES: avalanches are responsible for approximately 6 deaths a year in Colorado.

NUCLEAR: A nuclear blast is an explosion with intense light and heat, a damaging pressure wave, and widespread radioactive material that can contaminate the air, water, and ground surfaces for miles around.
