American Academy of Forensics Sciences

The American College of Forensic Examiners (ACFE) is a private, nonprofit, tax-exempt scientific and professional society. This website contains information on membership, certification, conferences, discussion groups, and online publications.

American Society of Crime Lab Directors

The American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors (ASCLD) is a nonprofit professional society devoted to the improvement of crime laboratory operations through sound management practices. Its purpose is to foster the common professional interests of its members; to promote and foster the development of laboratory management principles and techniques; to acquire, preserve and disseminate information related to the utilization of crime laboratories; to maintain and improve communications among crime laboratory directors; to promote, encourage and maintain the highest standards of practice in the field of crime laboratory services; and to to strive for the suitable and proper accomplishment of the purposes and objectives of this professional association.

American Society for Industrial Security

ASIS International, with more than 32,000 members, is the largest international organization for professionals responsible for security, including managers and directors of security. In addition, corporate executives and other management personnel, as well as consultants, architects, attorneys and federal, state and local law enforcement, are becoming involved with ASIS International to understand the constant changes in security issues and solutions. ASIS International is dedicated to increasing the effectiveness and productivity of security practices by developing educational programs and materials that address broad security concerns.

Colorado Police Officers Standards and Training Office - Attorney General's Office

Colorado Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) was established in 1973 to certify peace officers appointed by state and local law enforcement agencies . Initially, P.O.S.T. was administered by the Colorado Law Enforcement Training Academy in the Department of Local Affairs. In July 1984, P.O.S.T. was transferred to the Department of Public Safety, and in 1992 it was transferred to the Department of Law (Office of the Attorney General), staffed by four full time employees.

Community Policing Consortium

The Community Policing Consortium is a partnership of five of the leading police organizations in the United States: International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) National Sheriffs' Association (NSA) Police Executive Research Forum (PERF) Police Foundation These five organizations play a principal role in the development of community policing research, training and technical assistance, and each is firmly committed to the advancement of this policing philosophy. The Community Policing Consortium is administered and funded by the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS).
