From: Il Primo libro delle Musche a una due
voci
Himno: Jesu corona Virginum
|
|
1. Jesu corona Virginum
quem mater illa concipit
quae Sola Virgo
haec vota clemens accipe
|
1. Jesus the Virgin's crown
conceived by her, His Mother,
as the only begotten Son,
from whom alone we accept mercy.
|
|
2. Qui pascis inter lilia
Septus choreis Virginum,
Sponsus decorans gloria,
sponsisque reddens praemia.
|
2. Thou who dwells among the lilies
And with the seven Virgin choirs
with glory decked and pledged
the rewards of a bride.
|
|
3. Quocunque pergis Virgines
sequentur, atque laudibis
Post te canente occursitant
Hymnosque dulces personant.
|
3. Those virgins who still attend
and follow Thee with praises
and songs, sing well
sweet hymns resounding.
|
|
4. Te deprecamur largius
Nostris ut addas sensibus
Nescire prorsus omnia
Corruptionis vulnera.
|
4. We therefore Beseech thee
To make us sensitive to
Thy grace so we may be pure
of all trace of corruption.
|
|
5. Laus, honor, virtus gloria
Deo, Patri et Filioto
Sancto simul Paraclito
In saeculorum saecula. Amen.
|
4. Praise, honor, virtue, and glory
God the father, and the Son
And also the Holy Spirit,
World without end, Amen.
