Speaker: Beth Kirkpatrick: current Director of Education and the National Spokesperson for Polar Electro, Inc. Get to the Heart of Physical Education by utilizing a Polar Heart Rate Monitor in your curriculum. Technology in the gymnasium without sacrificing activity - it is changing the image of physical education by providing motivation and documentation. This workshop will showcase across-the-curriculum lessons, content standards and benchmarks as they pertain to physical education, math and language arts. Class management that includes organization, distribution and information retrieval will also be demonstrated.

Throughout this workshop participants will model and practice ideas and strategies to link assessment, planning and instruction. Particular emphasis will focus on informal and formal assessment tools and ways to make learning more meaningful to students. Alignment of a K-5 curriculum with each of three Colorado Model Content Standards for physical education, along with a fourth standard that addresses the social component, will be presented.
  3. Physical Best (K-12th)**
