Searching For Radio Stations On The Internet
I have always been a fanatic of listening to good music on the radio. Whether it is Jazz, Old School Rhythm & Blues, Hip Hop & Rap, New Age,
Classical and Country Music. Whether driving in my car or listening to the radio at home or at work, sometimes listening to the same songs over and over
again can become very dull and boring from the radio (especially if that person does not have satellite radio – like Sirius or XM Radio installed in their
vehicles) from local radio stations in that person’s home state. It can be very depressing and very annoying most of the time day in and day out .
Times have changed, since the invention of the internet, radio stations can be pulled up on the Internet called Internet Radio. Since the
development of Internet Radio, a person who lives in Colorado can go to a computer and bring up the internet and pull up websites of radio stations from
around the United States and around the World to pickup stations that offer a different selection of music, news, or sporting events (football, basketball,
and/or baseball) at the touch of his or her fingertips. However, if a person cannot find the radio stations that he or she is looking for on the internet,
then that person can go to a radio station search engine on the internet or web to find radio stations by state or by radio station call letters. Also,
radio stations can be looked up through regular search engines like GOOGLE, Yahoo, and My Web Search that people use on a daily basis.
Radio Stations search engines are an excellent way to be able to find radio stations (from California, New York, Montreal, London, and/or Hong Kong)
to fulfill a person’s heart’s desire. Here are several radio station search engine websites that were pulled up from off the internet.
1) www.radio-locator.com
2) www.radiorow.com
3) www.live365.com
4) www.broadcasturban.com
Radio-Locator.com is a very good radio station search engine on the internet. It was formerly known as MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology)
List of Radio Stations on the Internet. Radio-Locator has over 10,000 radio station and 2500 audio streams from the U.S. and all over the world. A person
can find U.S. radio stations by location or by radio station call letters (KBLX, KTLA, KGNU, etc). Also, radio stations can be found through Internet
streaming radio format (Jazz, Comedy, Classical, etc) and a person can find worldwide radio stations by choice of country (England, Germany, Japan, Egypt,
etc). This search engine locate radio stations on AM frequencies as well as FM frequencies and has email, mailing addresses, and phone numbers on this
locator. A listener can become a member of Radio-Locator by having a login to the website. Overall, Radio-Locator has a lot to offer when it comes to
searching for radio stations worldwide.
Radio Row.com is an interesting radio station search engine because not only does this website locate radio stations from around the world, it also
has station formats (Alternative, Blues, Jazz, etc) just like Radio-Locator. There is a section to add new radio stations to its search website and another
section for listeners to submit their favorite station on this search engine. Radio Row started something new by adding HD (High Definition) Radio Stations
because listeners are going to HD technology (Radios and Television). It is the future of today’s society and beyond. Also, Radio Station Owners are asked
by Radio Row to promote their Radio Station on their search engine website in order for the station owners to “Make Your Station Standout”. Radio Row’s
radio station operates out of Ohio and their format is much different from Radio-Locator, but is similar to Live365 Internet Radio.
Live365 Internet Radio (Live365.com) seems similar to Radio Row. It search engine has 6 sections at the top of the website. Those sections are 1)
Home, 2) Browser, 3) Search, 4) Recommendations, 5) Favorites, and 6) Be a VIP. The Home page shows a “Find Stations That Play” section area for different
music genres, a “Stations by Genre” section to choose what type of music to look for in the selected radio stations, a “Daily Live365 Recommendations”
section to show what are the good radio stations to listen to. The Browser page deals with different types of music genres: Select A Genre and Genres in
alphabetical order from A-Z. The Search page deals with : “Find Stations That Play” certain music genres (Alternative, Classical, Gospel, etc). This means
that radio stations that play specific music genres. Also, going into advanced search on specific artists, station information, genre, and location of
certain radio stations. The Recommendations page deals with stations customized from the listener’s experience, Daily Live365 Recommendations (Told in the
Home page of Live365.com), and Editor’s Station Picks (Live365 editor’s favorite station choices). The Favorites page deals with preset radio stations that
the listener will keep when logged in as a Live365 member. They offered products for members of the website. Finally, the VIP page deal with becoming a
member and offering VIP packages (from 3 months to 24 months {2 years}). By being a VIP member, listeners have unlimited access to the world’s largest
Live365 Internet Radio. The only disadvantage of being a VIP member is getting a 5-day free trail membership. After the 5th day, a listener is obligated to
the rules of a member. Live365 Internet Radio has unique features that can please the listener in every way possible.
Broadcasturban.com is totally different type of radio station search engine from the 3 other radio station search engines. It’s different because it
does not have search for radio stations in the world, but it has urban radio stations in the U.S. (places like New York, Washington D.C., Massachusetts,
Florida, Tennessee, Nevada, and California). Listeners for all over the world can get Broadcasturban.com off the internet and can become members via email.
Also, listeners can watch special events Broadcasturban’s webcast site. Events arranging from university commencement exercises to seminar programs.
